Fall 2014

Amy Rees Anderson graciously volunteered to host our fall event at her beautiful, brand new home in Sandy, Utah.

As the managing partner and founder of REES Capital, Amy provides entrepreneurs and business executives' critical guidance and support to help their companies grow. Prior to founding REES Capital, Amy was the founder and CEO of MediConnect Global, Inc., which she sold to Verisk Analytics in 2012 for over $377 million.

After the guests arrived and enjoyed their food and drinks, Amy shared her impressive story with the group -- including the highs, the lows, and the important lessons she has learned along the way. After we finished the discussion with an informal Q&A, Amy shared a few things she’s as passionate and enthusiastic about as her business: her impressive shoe collection and showcase of Disney memorabilia.

Founder of Utah Film Center, cofounder of Impact Partners Geralyn Dreyfous

On June 26, Utah Wonder Women gathered at the home of one of our founding members, Geralyn Dreyfous. She is the founder of Utah Film Center, cofounder of Impact Partners, and a respected documentary producer, having been involved with several films including the Emmy-nominated The Day My God Died, and the Academy Award-winning Born into Brothels.

We spent the evening in Geralyn’s garden hearing about some of the unique projects she has been involved in and her experience as a woman working in the film industry.

Spring 2014

The second Utah Wonder Women event was held on March 27 at Crystal Maggelet's beautiful home in Salt Lake City. Crystal is the president and CEO of FJ Management (formerly know as Flying J) and founder of Crystal Inns Hotels & Suites.

The speaker for the evening was Heather Zynczak, chief marketing officer at Domo. She led an interesting discussion around the issues that affect women in leadership roles. A prominent thought leader and advocate for women in business, we were honored to have Heather share her thoughts on the topic.
